IX. How to Control Cookies via Your Browser
I. Introduction
Fellswoop, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website Goblins (the “Site”), which helps people meet new friends (or go on dates) in their favorite video games while voice chatting. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies are, how we use them, and your choices regarding their use.
This policy should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy, Code of Conduct, and Terms & Conditions, and applies to all visitors and users of our Site, regardless of their location. We are committed to complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, and applicable US state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
II. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to provide information to website owners, and to enable certain features. Cookies can be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by external services we use).
We also use similar technologies, including local storage, session storage, and pixel tags, which function in a similar way to cookies. References to “cookies” in this policy include these similar technologies unless stated otherwise.
III. Legal Basis For Using Cookies
Under the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive, we rely on the following legal bases for placing cookies on your device:
-
Strictly Necessary Cookies: These are exempt from consent requirements under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive because they are essential for the provision of the service you have requested (e.g., authentication, payment security).
-
All Other Cookies: We obtain your explicit, informed, and freely given consent before placing any functional, analytics, or marketing cookies on your device. You can manage your preferences at any time through our “Cookie preferences.” section.
IV. Categories Of Cookies We Use
We classify cookies into three categories based on their purpose. Below you will find a detailed description of each category and the specific cookies used.
A. Essential Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as logging in, setting privacy preferences, or filling in forms.
B. Functional Cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your preferences or enabling third-party features like social login and community integration.
C. Analytics Cookies
These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Site. They help us understand which pages are the most and least popular and how visitors navigate the Site.
D. Data Retention
Analytics data collected through server-side tracking is retained in accordance with the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy, Section XII (How We Delete Your Information). In summary: consent records are kept for five (5) years; traffic data and server logs are retained for one (1) year to comply with legal obligations; and data associated with banned accounts may be retained for up to two (2) years for safety purposes.
V. How We Obtain and Manage Your Consent
When you first visit our Site, you will see a cookie consent banner (our “Cookie Consent Manager”) that allows you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You may:
-
Accept All cookies by clicking the “Accept All” button.
-
Reject All cookies by clicking the “Reject All” button.
-
Customize your preferences by clicking “Manage cookies” and selecting which categories of cookies you wish to allow.
-
Change your preferences at any time by clicking the cookie settings section placed in the lateral menu in our web app.
We use c15t as our consent management solution. c15t is an open-source, privacy-first consent management library that is integrated directly into the Site’s codebase. It records and enforces consent preferences locally, ensuring that no non-essential cookies or tracking scripts are loaded until the user has explicitly granted consent. Consent records are maintained for audit and compliance purposes.
Important: No non-essential cookies will be placed on your device until you have provided your consent. If you choose not to consent, only strictly necessary cookies will be used.
VI. Third-Party Services and Data Transfers
Some of the cookies on our Site are set by third-party services. Below is a summary of these services, the purpose of their cookies, and links to their respective privacy policies:
Where personal data is transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place. These may include EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, or binding corporate rules, as applicable. For transfers to the United States, we rely on service providers that participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or have executed SCCs with us.
A. PostHog Considerations
About Our Analytics Provider (PostHog): We use PostHog to analyze how users interact with our platform. PostHog may collect session replay data, which records interactions such as clicks, scrolls, and navigation patterns to help us identify usability issues and improve the user experience.
PostHog is only activated after you provide your consent. We use a consent management tool to ensure that no analytics data is collected or transmitted until you have explicitly accepted analytics cookies. If you decline, PostHog remains inactive for your session.
To protect your privacy:
-
Sensitive inputs are automatically masked. Fields such as login credentials, passwords, and other sensitive form inputs are never captured in session recordings.
-
Your data is not shared with advertising networks. Analytics data collected through PostHog is used solely for product analytics and service improvement. It is not sold, rented, or disclosed to third-party advertising platforms.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by updating your cookie preferences. For more information on how PostHog processes data, visit posthog.com/privacy.
B. Agora Considerations
Voice and video calls on Goblins are powered by Agora. When you participate in a call, Agora processes session metadata and audio/video streams solely to deliver the real-time communication service. Agora does not use this data for advertising purposes. Data transferred to the United States is protected under Agora's participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. For transfers to other regions, Agora applies contractual safeguards in accordance with applicable law.
For full details, see Agora's Privacy Policy.
VII. Special Considerations for Sensitive Data
Our platform serves neurodivergent individuals. We are acutely aware that information about neurodivergence may constitute sensitive personal data (special category data) under Article 9 of the GDPR. We want to assure you that:
-
No cookie or tracking technology on our Site collects, processes, or transmits information about your neurodivergent status, health conditions, or disability.
-
Analytics data collected via PostHog is used for product improvement purposes only and does not identify individual users’ health-related characteristics. PostHog is configured to prioritize privacy, and no analytics data is shared with third-party advertising networks.
-
We do not use analytics tools that share data with advertising ecosystems. Our choice of PostHog as an analytics provider was made specifically to avoid the privacy concerns associated with tools that feed data into broader advertising and tracking networks.
VIII. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you have the following rights regarding cookies and the personal data collected through them:
A. Under the GDPR and UK GDPR
-
Right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. Withdrawal is as easy as giving consent — you can update your preferences at any time via the cookie settings in the lateral menu of our web app.
-
Right of access to the personal data we hold about you, including the right to receive confirmation of whether we process your data, a copy of that data, and information about how it is used, who it is shared with, and how long it is retained.
-
Right to erasure of your personal data where it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, where you have withdrawn consent and no other legal basis applies, or where the data has been unlawfully processed. To request deletion of your data, EU and UK users may contact us at Privacy@LikeGoblins.com. Note that this right does not apply where processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation.
-
Right to restriction of processing in certain circumstances: where you contest the accuracy of the data, where processing is unlawful but you oppose erasure, where we no longer need the data but you require it for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims, or where you have objected to processing pending verification of our grounds.
-
Right to data portability where processing is based on your consent or a contract and is carried out by automated means — you may receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller.
-
Right to object to the processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis, including for analytics or profiling. We will cease processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or the processing is necessary for legal claims.
-
Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have not handled your personal data in accordance with applicable law. In the UK this is the ICO; in the EU, your relevant national supervisory authority.
To exercise any of the rights above, EU and UK users may contact us at Privacy@LikeGoblins.com.
B. Under US Privacy Laws (CCPA / CPRA)
-
Right to know what personal information we collect, the purposes for which it is used, the categories of third parties with whom it is shared, and how long it is retained.
-
Right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal data. However, we use PostHog (a third-party analytics provider based in the United States) to process analytics events, which constitutes “sharing” of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA. You may opt out of this sharing at any time by (i) rejecting analytics cookies via our Cookie Consent Manager, or (ii) enabling the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser. Exercising this right will not affect your access to the Site or the level of service you receive
-
Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you services, charge you different prices, or provide a reduced level of service as a result of your exercising any of your privacy rights.
IX. How to Control Cookies via Your Browser
In addition to our Cookie Consent Manager, you can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of our Site. Below are links to instructions for common browsers:

XI. Children's Privacy
Our Site is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at the address below so we can take appropriate action.
XII. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on our Site with a revised “Effective Date” and, where required, we will re-obtain your consent.
